"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".

She's a Maniac

We've done a lot since the last time I posted. Rowan has been doing remarkably well!

She really enjoys her condiments... Here it's ranch dressing. And yes, she must take after her father because I am not fond of dressings and such.

We scoped out the baseball field. Ro was a fan.

Waiting for the dr...

Back at the ZOO!!

She had to take a break from all the walking :)

We went to our appointment at the immunologist again and had more labs drawn. It appears her immune system is back to normal.... AGH!!! YAY!!!

So afterwards we went to the park. It seemed like she was a magnet for all the kids there.

What in the world?! They were so nice, but this was too much.

Immediately, and I mean immediately after we got home she took a bath:)

Speaking of...
Here she is testing out one of the tubs at the home and garden show.

Today she said bye to the dogs on the posters at petsmart.

And when I told her to "say cheese" this is what I got:

She really was happy, just looks mad!

It feels absolutely amazing to have a healthy child right now. Life just doesn't seem as stressful anymore...

Our little Valentine <3

Best news first:
Rowan's Prograf (anti-rejection medication) came back, and it's perfect! Our liver team won't need to see us or have any labs drawn until MAY! Too bad we still have the pesky immunology issues, although they are seemingly on the mend. I need to do a follow up and check on those labs as well... They are send outs, so they take longer.

Now on to the LOVE:

Little sleepy, but eating pink heart-shaped pancakes!

A little more "alive" and she decides to snake some off of daddy's plate...

SUCCESS!

Moved on to cookie making... This was the workstation afterwards.

Eating the final product- Yum!

Wearing big girl panties.. Ooooo

Loving Elmo and his books

And then after all the candy, she threw up! HA. Just kidding....
She said she was tired. What a bad place to sleep.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day! Much love from all of us!

Liver Labs

It's only been a month since Rowan's last blood draw, but her liver labs haven't been checked in 3 months.

We left the house at 6:30 to make it to Austin for the timed lab draw. So early for Ro nowadays, but homegirl was as happy as ever.

PJs in the car...

She didn't understand why the hat. It was a cold morning...

The labs itself were easy, One poke!

Afterwards, Ro got dressed and we headed to her appointment with the immunologist.

Overall, he was very pleased with Ro. But he nixed the idea we had for mother's day out...
Boo! We definitely want the best for Ro, but she wants to play with other kiddos so badly. His concern is that Rowan's immune system is just not ready.

We'll keep being paranoid about hand washing. I even take off her clothes after we play at a playground...

And maybe this summer or fall she can go to "school".

The Results:
Liver lab numbers look great!
Still waiting on her prograf level and immunology results... Fingers crossed she still won't need IVIG.

Watching the pigs at the youth livestock show.

She looooves these Elmo pj's. Apparently though she needed Elmo to be in her hands... This is how we found her when she woke up.

We are feeling so relieved and joyful about Rowan's progress. She is a true miracle- growing so much every day.

Some sad news: A fellow "liver mom" passed away after she became acutely ill. She leaves behind three boys 5, 3, and 1. The middle child has BA and is currently listed for a transplant. Please say a prayer for them if you can.

Dentist, Diners, and Dates

D3

The Dentist:
Because of Ro's "medical history" she has to take a dose of antibiotic before any dental procedures.  No big deal-  it was amoxicillin and it smelled like pure Heaven, sugar, and bubblegum all mixed together.

We arrived and Rowan immediately gravitated towards the fish tank.  We waited, realized mom was a complete idiot for leaving without the diaper bag, and then pooped in our pants.  Great.

So, I went back to the car and found a pair of big girl panties just praying we'd be ok.  If she had an accident, I was going to pretend she was already potty trained ;)

When the exam started, I was the one getting nervous... They had her sit in my lap, not in the chair.  NO DIAPER kept flashing through my head.

There were two bad spots that popped up after Rowan's last admission.  She was 12 months old, inpatient for a couple of months, and the last thing on our minds was brushing teeth.  A little cleaning and sealant and she was good to go.  Tears, yes.  But this was a breeze compared to any IV starts.

The best news, she didn't pee- until I put her in the carseat...
Why didn't I take her to the bathroom afterwards?!?  She probably would have gone!

The Diner:

This is ketchup and tartar sauce.  Yum?!

The Date:
Rowan went to an awesome birthday party with all of her friends from "mom's lunch".
It was at The Little Gym... Bunches of mats and room to run!

She did. not. stop. moving.
I didn't get any pictures:( Afterwards, Ro ate an entire piece of pizza and devoured a cupcake too!

Use your brain and just imagine these pictures are from the party (even though they aren't)...

 Exhausted!

Of course this play place wasn't as cool as the party, but you get the gist...

Next week we have labs to check on Ro's amazing liver... It's been 3 months since we've seen those those numbers...excited to see the results :)
